A Prayer to the Goddess, Mother of All

As we journey through Navratri, the nine victorious nights celebrating Durga, there is an invitation to descend into the inner terrain, to travel through the eternity of our being, temporarily held in this human form, time and space. It’s a journey from the root to the crown, meeting our fears, doubts and unhelpful patterns (Kali) before we land in the realm of the heart to grow love, compassion and generosity (Lakshmi) and finally after this purification and expansion, to seek the blessing of insight, wisdom and understanding (Saraswati).

When we trust to go down and in, we nourish our inner world and from that fertile soil the heart lotus can bloom with roots held deep in the mud of our being. We can walk a heart centered path, choosing Love over Fear and the ‘power of Love’ over the ‘love of power’.

This is an auspicious time to pray to The Divine Mother for her grace, that we may transmute and transform the poisons into nectar, that we can heal our hearts and rise with courage to bring our gifts, creativity and blessings into the world.

Ma, illuminate our minds with the Light of your Awareness

And dissolve our aching hearts in your Divine Love

Give us courage to enter into the shadow realms

And hold us gently as we traverse the unresolved stories

Break us open in remembrance of the Highest Truth

Show us how to unify the fragmentation of a shattered reality

Humble us to the ground with the mastery of your intelligence

That we fall to our knees at the unfolding of your Great Mystery

Reawaken us to the Love that yearns to move through us

Let devotion be the fulfilment of our souls' burning prayers

Grace us with your presence in every sacred breath

That our hearts never doubt the holiness of each living moment

Bless us with the strength to feel and follow the longing

To recognise the gifts that are portals into your infinity

Bathe us in the balm of your eternal loving presence

That we every single soul can find relief in your Love.

Jai Ma. Jai Ma. Jai Ma.

Om Dum Durgayei Namah.
