Deepening into 2024

2024.
ɴᴜᴍʙᴇʀ 8.
ᴅʀᴀɢᴏɴꜱ.

I’ve been treading quietly through this first week. For me, it still feels to be a time for deepening. In the Northern Hemisphere we are still in the Winter portal, even here in Goa, Southern India, the nights are longer. I’m drinking in the sweet nectar of the dawn hours, the cool air & the sunlight yet to break the inky sky.

I’m ever learning not to rush through or out of the seeding or rooting space before it’s time. It’s here that I can touch the stillness, the silence within from where I hear my Soul whisper & move me. At a time when it feels our world has fallen apart, lost so much sense of this precious gift of life, of our humanity & the collective heart, it is even more essential we dig & sink deeper inside to find our seat of remembrance. Of our innate goodness. Of our unbreakable interdependence. I believe from here we can hold the insane & testing tensions of duality, with more grace, compassion & wiser, more loving action. We can breakthrough through the layers of dust that create the experience of separation & incompleteness.

In Kashmir Śaivism these are the *malas, the 3 impurities which entrap us *⁽ᴵ’ˡˡ ˢʰᵃʳᵉ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ᵃᵇᵒᵘᵗ ᵗʰᵉˢᵉ ˢᵒᵒⁿ⁾. Our practices, our sādhanās, the tapasyā, the personal effort we create, the heat we build, purifies and burns these impurities so that we can see through māyā, illusion, and perceive absolute Truth within the experience of Svātantrya, radical freedom. Divine sovereignty & alignment in service to the Whole, to all being in all realms through all time & space.

My quest is for deeper roots, deeper remembrance and a vaster capacity to hold, to be unshaken yet remain infinitely moved bith within my heart & from my heart. To be in flow with the Divine Will. Carried by streams of grace, the generosity of heart & the abundance of Śri, in infinite reciprocity.

The number 8. 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬, 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 and 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜. 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 and 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣.
The dragon, 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙚, 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡 yet 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚, allies of the earth.
Root.
Deepen.
Listen.
Cultivate.
Connect.
Stretch into.
Rise.
Serve.
Bloom.
